XQP WR-45
The ill-fated XQP WR-45 UHF Diversity Wireless AC Receptacle, circa 2003. Though it graces A.J.'s desk to this day, and a nifty wireless transmitter is plugged into a recep around the corner, we have been unable to power a VPR rack containing as few as one 531. Unfortunately, the 531 requires a bit more current than the WR-45 is capable of producing.

Along these lines, XQP has a host of good ideas for future VPR products. For example, we've yet to see a VPR electric pencil sharpener, which would sure come in handy for those who still use analog pencils. Or how about a media shelf module? Such a shelf could hold a couple of DATs, a cassette or two possibly. They make these things in full rack sizes, you know. We have even envisioned a 500 series seismograph for studios in the bay area. This could easily extend beyond audio devices. We'll keep you posted and perhaps provide some drawings.
